India stands united after the Pulwama attack, with major political parties speaking in one voice against terrorism and paying tribute to our martyrs.
Holding the press conference along with the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has said,
“The aim of terrorism is to divide the country, no one can divide this country and the entire opposition stands united with the security forces and the government.”
BSP chief Mayawati has issued a press statement and said,
“We strongly condemn the terror attack and firmly stand with our soldiers’ family in this time of grief.”
UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has issued a statement which reads,
“Our brave CRPF personnel died serving the nation selflessly, at the hands of cowardly terrorists, and their sacrifice will not be forgotten. My heart goes out to the loved ones of each and every victim. I share their grief and pain with all my heart. I sincerely hope that those responsible for this dastardly terror attack will be brought to justice and made to pay for this appalling act, that goes against every tenet of humanity.”
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted,
“Centre should give befitting reply to Pakistan Army & ISI, who are clearly behind the Pulwama attack on our CRPF Jawans. Punjab Vidhan Sabha unanimously condemned the attack today & passed a resolution that the sacrifice of our martyred soldiers should not go in vain.”
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s office has issued a statement: “Hon’ble CM Sri KCR condemned the attack on CRPF Jawans in Kashmir. CM has stated that he is extremely moved on the grave loss of lives in the ghastly incident. CM conveyed deep condolences to the bereaved families of the martyrs and wished speedy recovery of the injured.”
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has tweeted,
“Deeply saddened by the martyrdom of so many CRPF jawans in terrorist attack in Pulwama district of Jammu And Kashmir. Strongly condemn the cowardly act and condolences to the bereaved families.”
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted,
“I strongly condemn the terror attack on CRPF convoy in which many casualties are feared. India must stand united in this moment of grief.”
Therefore, the Indian political class has presented a united front against this outrageous incident. There were some parties and their leaders who chose to indulge in political point-scoring. They have not been included here.
