On Republic Day, the tricolour was insulted at the iconic Red Fort, when a mob entered its premises and hosted a flag other than the tricolour. This had already caused anguish and outrage among Indians of all kinds.
People’s anger was at those who misled farmers with lies against the farm laws as well as those who led the protestors to the idea of defiling a sacred day for our republic. This automatically put the Congress, Left and other such parties in the dock that claimed this was a ‘farmer protest’ that was about the farm laws. They said so, despite the fact that some protestors themselves called for release of people accused in Delhi riots and people accused of having links with Maoists.
Congress and Left ecosystem kept egging on protestors, in the hope that some violence would happen, and it did, but it went against their intentions. The violence was against the republic itself and not against BJP or PM Modi as they would have hoped.
Now that the real underbelly of the Congress and Left supported protest came to the fore at the reprehensible scenes in Red Fort, a new trick is being tried.
Among the people in the mob that vandalized the Red Fort was an actor from Punjab called Deep Sidhu. This actor has earlier been seen on an interview with Barkha Dutt after a video of his leading the protestors from Punjab had gone viral. There were also articles in other publications covering him.
He was the toast of the Congress-Left ecosystem with some politicians and journalists tweeting his video where he was saying “Ye inquilab hai” (This is revolution).
However, that came to a grinding halt till he openly said on Barkha Dutt’s interview with him that he supported Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and was found to have spoken in favour of Khalistan in multiple platforms.
It so happens that this actor, before being involved with these protests, had also been associated with Sunny Deol during his Lok Sabha campaign from Gurdaspur.
Photos of Deep Sidhu with Sunny Deol are today being spread by many journalists and activists sympathetic to Congress and Left, saying that he was a Trojan Horse in the farmer protests designed to discredit it.
Both Deep Sidhu and Sunny Deol have repeatedly said that they have dissociated themselves with each other. In fact, Deep Sidhu has gone onto say that he is an opponent of the BJP’s ideology.
Here is what Deep Sidhu himself says in a video to Barkha Dutt, courtesy her channel, Mojo Story. He clearly dissociates himself from BJP and Sunny Deol.
Here is Sunny Deol’s tweet on January 26 as well as his press release from December 6, 2020, where he says he or his family are not associated with Deep Sidhu.
A report by The Tribune, on the deplorable scenes at Red Fort, says, “On Monday evening, Deep Sidhu took over the main stage at Singhu, and along with gangster-turned-social activist Lakha Sidhana, announced they would hold the march ‘inside Delhi’. According to sources, they also had support from certain extreme Left-leaning elements among the 32 organisations in the plan for not following the agreed upon route.”
So, it was some extreme-Left organisations that unleashed the chaos at Red Fort along with Deep Sidhu and other extremists and this had nothing to do with the BJP.
