Is the Anti-CAA Lobby Showing Where Real Intolerance Exists?

anti caa lobby

Some recent events, especially those carried out under the pretext of anti-CAA protests, seems to be resulting in showing the true faces of a section that portrayed itself as tolerant. A few days back, we witnessed how the ‘eminent historian’ Irfan Habib rushed onto the stage to prevent the Governor of Kerala, Arif Mohammed Khan, from answering questions on CAA. As the days passed, such intolerance seems to be spreading widely.

A news channel from Kerala recently reported that residents of a colony at Kuttipuram in Malappuram districts had to face cruelty for supporting the government’s Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), as they were denied  access to drinking water. It has been reported that the water supply was halted after a heated debate over CAA.

In another instance from Kerala, doctors are increasingly complaining about being targeted by intolerant mobs. A doctor from Palakkad has put out a series of tweets explaining how he was forced to move out of the city because of the anti-CAA lobby. Not only has the professional life of a doctor been hit over his opinions, but the hospital which was already facing the shortage of doctors has had to see another doctor leave.

This is certainly not a one-off incident with doctors in Kerala, where the Communist government is refusing to implement the CAA that has been passed by the Parliament.

The eco-system which is against the humane efforts of the Modi government in ending the sufferings of persecuted Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities who fled from neighbouring Islamic countries to seek refuge in India, are also against hearing out any human sufferings which does not further their particular political narrative.

When a student of Hindu college started narrating the story of Kashmiri Pandits, students belonging to left eco-system obstructed her by raising slogans.
